Endless opportunities for electricians and electrical workers in central Ohio
A career with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers can offer life-changing opportunities for those willing to work hard and advance their careers.
Men and women who enjoy working with their hands, like being outdoors and enjoy different challenges each day can achieve great success by becoming IBEW members.
It all begins with an apprenticeship through The Electrical Trades Center, where apprentices are transformed into highly skilled journeymen.
IBEW Apprenticeship
Through the IBEW’s registered apprenticeship program, men and women, regardless of race, receive the industry’s top training and education. This means they earn while they learn, as they work on jobsites with experienced journeymen, while taking classroom courses at The Electrical Trades Center’s state-of-the-art facility to gain industry skill set, experience and knowledge in order to become a journeyman.
Instead of racking up tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars in college debt, apprentices receive a no-cost education, while they begin a pathway to a long and successful career. Apprentices earn livable wages, receive pay increases as they progress through the apprenticeship program and also receive excellent health insurance and retirement benefits.
Most first-year journeymen earn more than most first-year college graduates, have better health insurance, are better positioned for retirement and have no student debt. While college students are acquiring massive amounts of student loans, IBEW apprentices position themselves to make major life-changing purchases such as homes, cars or pickup trucks, major electronic systems, etc.
A career as an IBEW electrician or teledata installer-technician will position you to take care of your family and enjoy a middle-class lifestyle.
